Dear CBI family and friends,

I hope you and your loved ones are safe, healthy and adjusting to these challenging times.

As you will see in this newsletter, COVID-19 has affected our partners, but their resourcefulness has enabled them to continue helping others in need. Thanks to your steadfast commitment and generosity, CBI is able to support our partners’ work, and remain true to our mission. Even in the face of COVID-19, we will continue our fight against preventable blindness, and seek new opportunities to expand our efforts in other countries.

Meanwhile, the pandemic also has impacted our plans for World Sight Day this fall. While we would love to see you in person, we want to ensure you can safely and easily participate from the comfort of your own home. That’s why we’re inviting you to attend our first-ever virtual World Sight Day event on Thursday, October 8, 2020!

This easy-to-access online celebration will highlight our impact and our path forward. You’ll also get to know Bradford and Bryan Manning, founders of the Two Blind Brothers clothing line, who have been featured on The  Ellen DeGeneres Show, NBC Nightly News and more. Plus, we’ll talk to Lucy Edwards, an engaging young BBC broadcaster, YouTube star and disability activist.

And, our online silent auction will offer something for everyone, including international art, food, master classes and enriching experiences.

We really hope you will participate in this must-see event! Please register today and support our cause.

Now, more than ever, you are making a crucial difference in the lives of others who deeply need our help. We are truly grateful for your support.

With gratitude,

Reena Chandra Rajpal, MPH
