CBF began its work in 1986 by sponsoring 4 eye camps conducted by King George's Medical College (KGMC). Since then, CBF has supported the screening of 47,493 patients and cataract surgery for 9,268 patients. In addition to sponsoring traditional eye camps, CBF has supported the Rural Eye Care Project at KGMC which covers a population of approximately 170,000 people. In addition to screening and treating patients, this project also involves follow-up and educational activities.
