 There are 37 million people who are blind in the world. 33 million live in developing countries. 26 million of this blindness is curable or preventable using inexpensive interventions. 18.5 million of all avoidable blindness in the world is caused by cataract, a clouding of the lens in the eye. Cataract can be cured by a simple 20 minute procedure costing only $20 per patient. Together we can be the solution in sight.
